Diving Ducks (Sea Ducks)

Inhabitants of deep lakes, rivers, coastal bays, and inlets. They dive for their food and have a rapid wingbeat.

Features: Canvasback, Redhead, Greater Scaup, Ring-necked Duck, Hooded Merganser, Lesser Scaup, and Bufflehead.

Texas Duck Bag Limit

Overall Limit: 6 birds.

Here are the specific restrictions for different species:

- Mallards: up to 5 birds (but no more than 2 can be hens).
- Wood Ducks: up to 3 birds.
- Redheads: up to 2 birds.
- Canvasbacks: up to 2 birds.
- Scaup: 1 bird.
- Pintail: 1 bird.
- Dusky Ducks (this includes the mottled duck, Mexican-like duck, black duck and their hybrids): 1 bird.
Note: Hunting for Dusty Ducks is closed during the first five days of the season in each zone.

Any other species not explicitly listed: 6 birds.
